REAL WEDDINGS

Michelle & Jason

Michelle and Jason. Stones of the Yarra Valley, Coldstream

Romantic Spring Wedding at Stones of the Yarra Valley.

It was a perfect Spring wedding for Michelle and Jason in September at Stones.

Michelle is a wedding planner in Singapore and she had styled and designed some really gorgeous details throughout the day.

Delicate embroidered details on the veil included the last sentence from the Ceremony poem.

My favourite element for this weddings was the backdrop to the floral arbour in the Chapel. We hung a cloth from the stained glass window with a hand written poem lettered on it. Michelle wanted a floral statement in front of the poem, that would frame the couple where they stood for their vows.

I made an open arbour with each side curving inwards towards each other and covered it with clustered blooms in mixed pinks, whites and soft greys. I wanted this piece to be full, yet restrained and elegant, so the flowers were arranged quite tight and intentionally.

As usual, I don’t use floral foam and photo of this piece was even picked up by Green Wedding Shoes in a feature article on florists around the world that don’t use floral foam. You can read the article here

Michelle’s bouquet was a gorgeous mix of peonies (her favourite) garden roses and perfect mini phalaenopsis orchids with tendrils of liquorice leaf from my garden.

The hanging installation was a round floral chandelier filled with loads of florals and textures including dried palms and painted foliage.

For the reception, we kept things quite simple on the tables and brought the ceremony arbour in to the Barn to frame the entrance so it could still be enjoyed.
