REAL WEDDINGS

Naomi & Alex

Naomi and Alex’s Romantic Garden Wedding. Burnham Beeches, Sherbrooke.
A blessing to work with, Naomi and Alex chose to wed in a very special place beside the ancient hedge in the grounds of Burnham Beeches in Sherbrooke. Read on to see some of the beautiful details from their wedding day.
This lovely couple were such a blessing to work with. Naomi and Alex really wanted their ceremony to happen outside in the grounds of Burnham Beeches. I’d done a few ceremonies before, in front of the mansion on the lawn, but they had discovered a special spot against the massive, ancient hedge on another part of the property.
This hedge provided a great backdrop for the open arbour that I created with loads of texture, pineapple lillies, herbs and foraged foliages and gorgeous rust toned amaranthus. After the ceremony we repositioned these floral pillars to frame the sweetheart table at the reception. Earlier, we had created some heavily textured hanging installations over the guest tables, filled with broad dried palms, spinifex and foraged foliages.
I was especially excited about using pineapple lilies in Naomi’s bouquet. I wanted to create something a bit wild and free form for her, while still working with some of her favourite peonies and garden roses. The peonies were beautiful faded out coral charm which worked so well with the late summer palette. I also used dried ferns and her sweet flower crown was made with delicate dried flowers, so she could keep it after.
Amy Dobos did such an incredible job with the photography. I love her work.
